Penrith Celebrant

I have lived in St Clair, part of Penrith City, and been an active part of the community for almost 40 years.

You will often see me shopping in Penrith, out by the Nepean River, in meetings in Kingswood, on my morning walks in St Clair shops.

I volunteer my services as a Justice of the Peace at St Clair Library and the Community Centres.

You may also recognise me from the Mamre Foundation annual events where I was the MC for well over 25 years entertaining crowds of 1000’s; or maybe at other charity events and community services.

In 2000 I was conferred the inaugural Community First’s Local Hero Award for my services to the community and my picture was up on the wall for a year or two.

I am your local Celebrant.

It is your ceremony so let’s design it together, hold it at the location of your choice and be guided by your imagination, hopes, dreams and wishes.

A Ceremony created by Lou Szymkow, A Life Celebrant; with over 30 years experience in public life,  will ensure that it is uniquely your own; an enriching, memorable experience.

Whether you seek a traditional ceremony, a simple garden gathering,  a celebration in a fun theme or personal style that has not yet been thought of, we can confidently work together to ensure your ceremony will be exceptional.

It is really about you and your ceremony, but you can keep scrolling if you really want to read more about me ;

I love the infinite diversity of our planet; I have travelled widely, from the Grand Bazaar in Istanbul to the green fields of Shropshire and to the underground pool in Lifou or exploring the Great Ocean Road;

I grew up on a small farm on the outer skirts of Sydney, milking cows, plucking chooks and riding horses across paddocks.

I’ve sat at boardroom tables and have enjoyed an Alpha beer under the moon of the Acropolis ; ridden a camel in in the shadow of the Pyramids and shared a banana with a monkey in a Bali temple; I just love new experiences and the incredible variety of cultures across the world. I’ve worked in a variety of fields from insurance clerk to private investigator; education industry consultant to motivational speaker and trainer; I’ve built swimming pools, picked fruit, worked on farms and managed national sales teams.

I’ve been with people at their greatest moments and at their saddest, each being a part of the journey we call life …. and of course I truly enjoy my writing and poetry.

I love doing what I do.

What I enjoy most about my experiences is meeting people.

Everyone has their own story and it is often amazing what can be learned over an expresso in a back street in Rome , Venice or Amsterdam, or on a walk in a London street or a beach in Nice, or sitting on the grass bank of the Nepean River.

Sharing time with people is the greatest of experiences.

    Solid post! I actually wasn’t aware of this. It’s refreshing to read because I get so annoyed when writers put no thought into their work. It’s obvious that you know what you’re writing about. I shall definitely visit again!
